Quick Bite: Bar Cicci
Bar Cicci (pronounced: CHEE-chee), a neighborhood café and aperitivo bar from James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Ellen Yin’s High Street Hospitality Group, is preparing for an August 18 soft opening, offering an experience unlike any other in Philadelphia.

Inspired by years of travel through Milan and Venice, Yin envisioned Bar Cicci as a place that celebrates the daily rituals of Northern Italy—from morning espresso and house-baked pastries to evening cicchetti, spritzes, and wine. Located along Rittenhouse’s vibrant culinary corridor, the all-day café invites guests to return throughout the day, embracing the Italian rhythm of lingering over coffee, aperitivo, and conversation.

The menu, helmed by High Street Hospitality Group Culinary Director Christina McKeough, features a seasonally rotating selection of pastries and daytime fare alongside expertly crafted espresso, including Pizza Bianca, Sfilatino, a Cannoli Cruffin, and Budino di Riso.

As the day transitions into evening, the menu shifts to aperitivo with cheeses, seasonal vegetables, fish, and freshly sliced salumi, complemented by cocktails ranging from classic Negronis to the Martini Sporco—a savory vodka martini garnished with pickled onion and anchovy.
Bar Cicci is located at 1620 Sansom Street. Follow on Instagram for more.
