Weckerly’s Ice Cream Coming to Rittenhouse Square
Weckerly’s Ice Cream, Philadelphia’s beloved micro-creamery known for its handcrafted, honest-to-goodness scoops and iconic ice cream sandwiches, is excited to announce it will open its third location this April at 1600 Spruce Street in Philadelphia’s historic Rittenhouse neighborhood.
The scoop shop location will feature up to 24 of Weckerlys’ hand-made small-batch scoop flavors alongside its renowned ice cream sandwiches. A first for Weckerly’s, this location will also feature an all-day coffee and tea service with fresh brews from Delaware’s Brandywine Roasters.
“Expanding to Rittenhouse is an exciting milestone for Weckerly’s,” said Cristina Torres, CEO and Owner of Weckerly’s. “This neighborhood has always been a special place for me, and we’re thrilled to bring our handcrafted ice cream to a new corner of the city. With each step of our growth, our focus remains on making the best product from scratch and creating joy and connection through our ice cream, and we can’t wait to welcome the community to our newest location.”
Since opening its first scoop shop in the Fishtown neighborhood in 2012, Weckerly’s has stayed true to its commitment of crafting small-batch scoops, mix-ins and sandwiches using premium and natural ingredients, all made from scratch in its Northeast Philadelphia kitchen. The opening of its King of Prussia Mall location in September 2024 was a major milestone in the company’s growth, and the upcoming Rittenhouse location marks another exciting step forward in its expansion.
