The Buttery to Open Third Location in Ardmore
The Buttery is excited to announce the grand opening of its new location, The Buttery – Ardmore, on Saturday, October 4, with a soft opening beginning Wednesday, October 1 through October 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Located inside the Ardmore Farmer’s Market in Suburban Square (120 Coulter Ave, Ardmore, PA 19003), the new location will be open seven days a week and serve handcrafted specialty coffee, scratch-made pastries, sourdough bread, bagels, sandwiches and more.
To celebrate its grand opening, The Buttery – Ardmore will give away its signature sable cookies to the first 100 customers, with purchase, on both Saturday and Sunday of the grand opening weekend.
“Community has always been at the heart of The Buttery,” said John Rhoads, Co-Owner of The Buttery. “Our goal is not only to serve exceptional food and drink, but to foster connections with the communities where we work. Ardmore’s bustling farmer’s market felt like a great next step for us, and we’re excited to be a part of it.”
Menu offerings and highlights of the Ardmore location include Buttery classics such as croissants and scones as well as grab-and-go favorites, including their ham & brie baguette sandwich, and introducing new favorites such as chicken katsu and pastrami reuben. New to The Buttery brand, The Buttery – Ardmore will offer bagels, with a selection of house made spreads.
The Buttery was founded in 2015 by husband-wife duo John and Silenia Rhoads with the opening of their flagship location in Malvern, and second satellite location at the Malvern Station that opened in 2024. The new Ardmore location opens as The Buttery celebrates its 10-year anniversary, and as they look to further expand throughout the region in the coming months. The hours of The Buttery – Ardmore will align with the farmers’ market as follows:
- Monday – Saturday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At the heart of The Buttery’s growth is the Bakehouse in Norristown, a custom-built production kitchen where the team crafts fresh, artisanal breads, pastries and savory items every day. This dedicated space allows the team to stay true to what matters most: quality, care and consistency. Every item is made by hand, ensuring guests experience the same craftsmanship and flavor at each of The Buttery’s locations, while strengthening their mission to bring people together over food made with care.
The original Malvern location will undergo a full concept redesign and interior renovation throughout September and October, transforming the space back to its roots as a true gathering place for the community. The refreshed design will feature 54 indoor seats, window seating and expanded outdoor seating for the warmer months. Guests can look forward to a café-casual experience with fresh, made-to-order dishes from the kitchen, while still enjoying The Buttery’s signature pastries, breads, coffee, and a small grab-and-go case for those on the move.
