Mi Vida Opening Soon at East Market in Mid-January
A vibrant new Mexican dining destination is coming to Center City this winter. Mi Vida, the Mexico City–inspired restaurant from DC-based KNEAD Hospitality + Design, is set to open in East Market in mid-January, just steps from Reading Terminal Market.
The highly anticipated opening marks a full-circle moment for KNEAD’s founders, both of whom began their culinary careers in Philadelphia before building one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most successful hospitality groups. KNEAD Hospitality + Design has earned national recognition, including a James Beard Outstanding Restaurateur semifinalist nod, and Mi Vida has developed a devoted following at its locations in Washington, D.C. and Virginia Beach.
At the helm of the kitchen is acclaimed Chef Roberto Santibañez, a leading voice in modern Mexican cuisine. The menu is rooted in bold, regional Mexican flavors, showcasing thoughtfully crafted dishes that balance tradition with contemporary technique. Guests can expect vibrant moles, freshly made tortillas, refined takes on street-food classics, and a beverage program that complements the rich flavors of the cuisine.
Beyond the food, Mi Vida is known for its immersive, larger-than-life design. The Philadelphia location will bring the brand’s signature energy to East Market, pairing colorful interiors and dramatic visual elements with a lively, social atmosphere that reflects Mexico City.
With its prime location, celebrated culinary leadership, and deep ties to Philadelphia’s food scene, Mi Vida’s arrival adds another major draw to Center City’s ever-evolving dining landscape. The restaurant is slated to welcome its first guests in mid-January, offering Philadelphians a bold new place to gather, dine, and celebrate.
East Market is located at 1100 Market Street.
