Marra’s Italian Restaurant in South Philly Closing
Just a few weeks ago, news broke that the building housing the iconic South Philadelphia Italian restaurant Marra’s had gone under contract. At the time, many hoped the restaurant on the first floor would somehow continue operating as Marra’s.
However, the latest chatter across various social media platforms and message boards suggests otherwise. Several sources claim a deal has been finalized with another restaurant group has taken over the building and plans to convert it into a new concept—effectively bringing Marra’s nearly century-long run to an end.
Supposedly, employees have told customers that the closing date is November 30th.
Sad to see it go. Will update as soon as any formal confirmations are announced.
