Haraz Coffee House Expands to Fishtown
Haraz Coffee House, the specialty coffee brand rooted in the traditions of Yemeni coffee culture, proudly announces the opening of its second Philadelphia location in Fishtown. The café will celebrate its official grand opening on Friday, October 10, from 4–9 PM, inviting the community to experience its signature coffees, pastries, and welcoming atmosphere.
At the center of the Fishtown opening is Chef Enaas Sultan, a Le Cordon Bleu–trained pastry chef who leads Haraz’s bakery program with a unique blend of classical French technique, Yemeni tradition, and global inspiration.
Sultan, the daughter of Haraz Fishtown owner Zehra Wamiq, was born and raised in Philadelphia and has traveled to more than 30 countries, honing her craft and building a pastry repertoire that bridges cultures. Her creations reflect her formal training in French pastry, her South Asian and Muslim heritage, and her dedication to using food as a means of connecting communities.
“Pastry is a way of storytelling,” said Sultan. “With each dessert, I want to share flavors from my heritage, my travels, and my training in a way that feels both familiar and new. Bringing this vision to Fishtown—one of the city’s most creative neighborhoods—is incredibly exciting.”
At Haraz Coffee House in Fishtown, guests can enjoy a rotating menu of Sultan’s pastries: from flaky, warm patties to buttery pistachio-raspberry tarts to fragrant Yemeni desserts designed to complement the café’s signature coffee offerings. She also hosts private afternoon tea events, giving guests the opportunity to experience her carefully curated menus in an intimate setting.
Each pastry at Haraz Coffee House reflects Chef Enaas Sultan’s global approach to flavor and artistry. The Tahini Chocolate Cake offers a rich, nutty twist on a classic, with velvety chocolate balanced by earthy sesame/ The Pistachio Cheesecake is a creamy, pistachio-infused delight layered over a delicate crust and finished with a touch of rose essence. The Dubai Chocolate Brownie is an indulgent favorite, known for its fudgy texture and subtle notes of cardamom.
Haraz Coffee House first arrived in Philadelphia with its University City location in April 2025, quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite. The new Fishtown café represents the next step in Haraz’s expansion, with additional locations already in development across the city.
The grand opening event on October 10 (4–9 PM) will officially welcome the Fishtown community to experience Haraz Coffee House. Guests can expect handcrafted drinks, treats prepared by Chef Sultan, and a glimpse into how Haraz blends authentic Yemeni heritage with modern café culture.
