Dara Thai Opens in Midtown Village
Dara Thai restaurant has opened at 1221 Walnut Street in Midtown Village. It officially opened on December 7th.

Owners are Ramzi Gunselman, Oramon Saeiab, and Wichattra Phansaeng.
Gunselman is a long-time Philadelphia resident who attended Drexel University to become an engineer and currently works full-time as an engineer manager at Boeing for Defense Programs and supports the restaurant.
Saeiab is a new resident of Philadelphia who previously studied at Monroe College in New York for business. Saeiab now works full-time at the restaurant as the General Manager and wears many other hats, including serving as the restaurant’s social media manager.
Phansaeng is also a new resident of Philadelphia who previously studied at Dusit Thani College in Bangkok, obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Culinary Arts, and works full-time as Dara Thai’s head chef. Phansaeng previously worked at Nourish Thai in New York City.



The new Thai restaurant specializes in traditional Thai dishes such as Mama Kee Mao (drunken noodles), Tom Yum, and Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice.
The tagline “The Star of Thai Home Cooking” was chosen to highlight the restaurant’s focus on celebrating family recipes from their homeland brought to their new home in the US.


Dara Thai seats 46 inside and has a celestial decor theme.
